We catch up with Kitty and Edward to find out about their quintessentially traditional wedding day, and their Prezola Day delivery!

How did you meet?
We met through a friend of my sister who also happened to be Edward’s housemate in London; we asked her if she could find an extra man for a party we were hosting and Edward came – all the way to Scotland!

Tell us all about the engagement!
We were on holiday in Jerez, Andalucia with some friends last autumn and Edward suggested going to visit a nearby town with a castle and basilica which stood on top of a cliff overlooking the sun-bleached plains. He proposed in the afternoon quiet of the siesta as we sat in a corner of shade near the steps of the basilica.

What was your favourite thing about the wedding?
I was glad that our dogs were allowed to follow me down the aisle – Edward wasn’t expecting them so it was a wonderful surprise! Also, the sun came out again as we left the church so that everything looked beautiful, and we were able to greet all our friends and family as we left the church.

What tip would you give other couples planning their wedding?
As I was pregnant we only had three months to plan the wedding, which was actually no problem at all as it was late January and out of season, but I would advise allowing more time than you think for dress fittings (especially if changing shape as I was) and getting orders of service etc. printed, as these were only completed days before the wedding which was mildly panic-inducing!

Apart from getting married, what’s the best thing you’ve done together?
I have loved exploring Italian cities together. I studied art history and Edward classics so Italy is perhaps the most fascinating country to visit. We have been to Rome, Venice and Milan together so far. I would like to go to Sicily and the south too. However, our baby is due any day so hopefully this will be the best thing… perhaps we can travel as a family and combine both!

Did you have a honeymoon? If so, tell us all about where you went and what you loved about it.
We stayed in Bath after the wedding, then flew to Rome for a week where we stayed in an apartment close to the Pantheon and Spanish Steps. It was perfect weather for wandering slowly through the city and along the river, stopping regularly for coffee, pasta or pizza. We had been before so didn’t feel we had to fit in all the sights, just enjoyed the atmosphere – especially as January is fairly quiet so that at times we felt we had the museums to ourselves. We had just decided on our favourite wine bar and restaurant when the week came to an end all too soon.

Why did you choose Prezola for your gift list?
I had heard it mentioned by friends, had a look online and liked the range of gifts and brands available – they seemed carefully selected, good quality, interesting brands and everything was very tempting!

What item were you most excited to get on your gift list?
I am really enjoying the Roberts Revival digital radio; I’m on maternity leave so it’s great to be able to listen to interesting podcasts and find new digital radio stations to entertain myself.

Tell us all about your Prezola delivery day!
It was very exciting to receive ten enormous boxes of presents! I opened them immediately and laid out the beautifully wrapped and beribboned parcels for everyone to admire before opening them the following weekend with Edward and my family.

What’s the most exciting thing you’re looking forward to as a married couple?
The arrival of our baby! The last two months have seen a lot of change as we finished renovating our kitchen, built a bookcase and created window blinds, as well as acquiring all the baby essentials…

What’s your favourite date activity?
It usually involves food and drink – seeking out the best coffee and croissant in East London, or the best Aperol Spritz or tiramisu in Rome, for example!

What brands on Prezola are your favourites?
Le Creuset makes really durable, lifelong products – my parents still have theirs and I am thrilled to have my own collection now; Sophie Conran chinaware is beautifully simple, timeless and elegant; and I love the colours and designs of the OKA and India Jane cushions and lamps. Also, I hadn’t come across Nkuku before and love their large handmade artisan mugs, so that has been a great discovery.

How would you describe your interior style?
Fairly traditional – Edward likes early 19th century furniture and 18th century prints, while I have a slightly more modern style (having studied and collected early 20th century British art) and tend to choose brighter fabrics and tableware to complement these, such as the lovely ceramic lamps, kilim cushions and colourful throws on our list.
