Diana and Charlie got married in the Caribbean this February and had a gorgeous wedding filled with tradition and elegance in a church, but soon enough that all turned into a fiesta when drummers and dancers were waiting outside to take them to the reception. An outfit change later, Diana and Charlie were donning festive masks and salsa dancing the night away! We find out more about their story.
How did you both meet?
This is Charlie’s favourite story. We met in a club while he was on a date with someone else!
Tell us all about the engagement!
It was on Christmas Day in 2015 on a small island called San Andres in the Caribbean. We were on a family holiday with my parents and my family is very traditional so Charlie asked my dad’s permission for my hand in marriage in Spanish! Neither Charlie or my dad speak the same language so Charlie thinks asking my dad was actually the scariest part. When he proposed we were walking by the sea, it was perfect.
What was your favourite thing about the wedding?
It was hearing the drums outside of the church waiting for us to exit. Then we danced in a procession with all the guests, drummers and dancers to the hotel where we had the reception. It was epic! We must be in so many tourist photographs.
What tip would you give other couples planning their wedding?
Keep a spreadsheet!
Apart from getting married, what’s the best thing you’ve done together?
We took on property project; it was really hard work but now we live in a beautiful place that we really love.
Tell us all about your honeymoon! Where did you go and what did you love about it?
We got married in the Caribbean so we spent a week there in a resort with friends and family. The honeymoon will be in February 2018 in New Zealand to celebrate our one-year anniversary.
What did you love about having a Prezola gift list?
All of our favourite brands were available. We couldn’t wait to get all of our presents, but especially the champagne bucket and the breakfast-in-bed tray.

It was amazing to receive all of the beautifully wrapped presents, each with the message from our friends and family. It felt like a very glamorous Christmas morning!
What’s the most exciting thing you’re looking forward to as a married couple?
Planning our future together.
What’s your favourite date activity?
We love going to the cinema or salsa dancing.

How would you describe your interior style?
Charlie is an architect and he works in super prime residential projects. I would call our style “Glamorous Scandinavian”.
