Beautiful barn wedding with picturesque golden hour

Thrill-seekers Zara and Alex tied the knot in a beautiful 19th Century clock barn. Complete with a rollercoaster themed wedding cake and a seriously stunning beaded gown, we can’t get enough of their infectious smiles. We caught up Mr & Mrs Munday-Muir so they could tell us all about the big day and what was top of their gift list.

How did you two meet?
We met at work some time before we actually got together. Alex was my trainee when we were both working at the same law firm!

What's your favourite thing to do together?
We’re massive theme park junkies, so our favourite thing to do is travel the world hunting down the biggest and fastest rollercoasters. In the course of our relationship we’ve each been on over 100 different rollercoasters and always have the next trip in mind!

When we’re not thrill-seeking we love good food, good wine and hanging out on the sofa.

What was the best thing about your wedding?
Oh it’s so hard to choose just one...! It’s a tie between the hilarious game of Mr & Mrs we played before our first dance and the ‘first look’ moment we had as I was coming down the aisle.

What has surprised you most about being married?
No one can pronounce my husband’s (and now my) surname... He really should have warned me!

What's your top tip for other couples planning their wedding?
Get started as soon as possible with your wedding planning, but make it fun! We made sure to have a good stock of bubbles ready for whenever we needed to sit down and make the important decisions.

Tell us about your honeymoon.
We jetted off to St Lucia a couple of days after the wedding. Leaving a very chilly England in November and stepping off the plane into the Caribbean heat was an experience we’ll never forget. The highlight has got to be our private candlelit dinner on the beach, listening to the cheeping of the tree frogs while being treated to the famous St Lucian hospitality.

Were you always planning to have a gift list?
Not initially, but we’re so glad we did. It helped us to manage an important part of wedding planning while making sure that our guests would knew how best to contribute to our future lives together.

What's your favourite gift list feature on Prezola?
We loved how easy it was to create a personalised website tailored to our gifts. We were even able to include bespoke honeymoon experiences that our guests could contribute towards, like a catamaran cruise and yoga on the beach.

What are your favourite brands on Prezola?
There’s so many, but a few of our favourites are Nkuku, Culinary Concepts, Hotel Chocolat (we had a couple of dinners at their hotel while on honeymoon!), Patch Plants, Neom and Garden Trading.

What item were you most excited to get on your gift list?
We absolutely love our Neom wellbeing pod, it’s as good for a relaxing yoga session as it is for chilling out before bed.

How would you describe your interior style?
Minimalist and modern but with a few cosy and characterful additions. We’re big into our art, so that often influences our décor.

Is there a gift you wish you had added to your gift list but didn't?
We wish we had added a fire pit! When we got married we were living in a flat without a garden, now we have moved to a house with a garden we wish we had added a few treats to make our garden just the way we want it.

What gift have you used the most?
We love to host family and friends, so our dinnerware and glassware has been invaluable- my advice would be to buy a few more glasses than you think you’ll need to allow for any wine-fuelled accidents!
